The Thrill Of White Waters: The Best Places for River Rafting in India

Rishikesh is located on the holy Ganges River and offers thrilling river rafting holidays. For example, Roller Coaster, Three Blind Mice, Double Trouble, and Golf Course are some of the exciting waves that you can find on its 16-kilometer journey from Shivpuri to Laxman Jhula.

However, experienced users should be careful, especially at “The Wall,” where the currents need to be navigated by experts to avoid accidents.

Although, the Brahmaputra, which comes from Tibet, is a stronger opponent. For example, at Tuting to Pasighat, the Grade III and IV rapids are Moying Madness, Pango, Zebra Rock, Roaring Rikor, and Tooth Fairy.

This trip gives you a look at native communities, endangered species, and lush jungles, giving you a better understanding of the river valley’s environment and traditions.

People with diverse skill levels can enjoy different kayaking adventures in both Rishikesh and the Brahmaputra.

There is a reputation that Rishikesh is easy for beginners to get to, but crossing the Brahmaputra takes experience and good gear. And for those daring enough, both places offer the thrill of paddling in beautiful natural settings.

Spring is the beginning of the white water rafting season on the American Rivers. Trips on the North Fork American river, a free flowing river that relies on snowmelt, will begin in early April. They will keep running until the snowmelt is over, which depending on the snow pack, can be in May or June.

Increasing water levels in Colorado’s Arkansas River mean summer is here, which is the best time for whitewater rafting trips because the days are longer and the snow is melting.

Can you wear jeans white water rafting?

Synthetic clothing, like what you wear to the gym, will make for a much more comfortable rafting experience. You may love your jeans, but they don’t make for the best pants for the river. Swim shorts, gym shorts, or a wet suit are all much better options.

Our company provides all the necessary gear for your rafting trip! It will come with a hat, paddle, and personal flotation device (PFD). Your guides are responsible for making sure that your PFD fits nicely. Try renting a jacket.

Consider starting your outfit choice with a swimsuit, which is great for summer. Women can make themselves feel better by wearing shorts with a swimsuit and a synthetic shirt with board or sports shorts. Men may wear shorts and a polyester shirt. Wetsuits and splash jackets can be rented for events on the Gauley River in the spring.

Sandals with good support, like Tevas or Chacos, or old sports shoes are good choices. Socks or boots made of neoprene keep feet warm.

For extra protection, wear a hat under your helmet or bring shades with tight straps. To keep from getting sunburned, cover up any skin that is uncovered with sunscreen, even on cloudy days. Protect your arms, neck, and knees, especially during your river journey.

Which is the rafting capital of India?

Rishikesh is known as the rafting capital of India as it offers rapids varying from easy to strenuous.

My most recent trip was a spiritual retreat that combined my love of yoga and meditation. Since my office was in Haridwar and Rishikesh was only 18.5 miles away, I regularly traveled there. Finding the paddling office took me about 40 minutes. After enjoying the local food until our 3 p.m. meeting, we went to Shivpuri.

Before going rafting, we stood for pictures wearing the helmets and life jackets that the organizers offered. Mastering rafting techniques with the help of an experienced teacher made our dream come true.

In two hours and twenty-five minutes, the Ganga River went from Shivpuri to Laxman Jhula, a distance of sixteen kilometers. We were over roller coasters, double trouble, and golf courses, and we felt a rush of energy.

A sense of calm and peace confirmed our decision to accept Ganga’s hug in the middle of the angry river. Everyone who came enjoyed themselves, whether they were listening to music, meditating, or just taking it easy.

The body and mind got much-needed relief from the cold, tasty Ganga water. Our trip ended near Laxman Jhula, and we had hot Maggi. Although we missed the Ganga Aarti, the experience was priceless and only cost Rs. 400 per person.
