A Pier for Fishing on Pensacola Beach
To see a dolphin show, go to the Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier, which sticks out 1,470 feet into the Gulf of Mexico. Dolphins often come to the pier to eat the fish that have been caught, even though anglers don’t like having dolphins around. If the water is clear, you can see many kinds of sea creatures, like dolphins gliding smoothly and beautiful sea turtles swimming under and around the pier. The Pensacola Beach Pier has more information.
I was looking out over the beach.
Many dolphin boats go to Pensacola Pass, but if you’d rather stay on land, the beautiful white beaches of Santa Rosa Island are a great place to see dolphins. There are long stretches of beach along Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico at the tip of the island in the Fort Pickens Area of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. This is a great place to relax and watch dolphins.
There are miles of clear beaches here, so you can see dolphins from any of them. Use our map of public beaches to find the perfect place to relax.
An exciting trip
Go swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding in the Gulf to see dolphins in their native environment. This is one of the best chances to see these amazing animals in their natural setting, where they are free and not tamed. Keep in mind that dolphins are dangerous animals, so stay away from them, especially if they are young. Hideaway if you hit a dolphin’s tail in the water. If not, enjoy this amazing and one-of-a-kind event.
What happened to Dolphin Cruise Line?
Dolphin Cruise Line was a cruise line that owned a fleet of ships such as the SS Dolphin IV, SS OceanBreeze, SS SeaBreeze and SS IslandBreeze. In 1997, it was bought out by Premier Cruise Line, and the remaining 3 ships kept their names, but were painted in Premier Cruise Line’s livery.
We had a good time on our first trip to the Dolphin! We were lucky enough to eat with three different leaders while we were on board. Unfortunately, she was no longer visible when Dolphin Cruise Lines stopped running. The SeaBreeze and OceanBreeze boats were later bought from Dolphin by Premier, the famous BIG red boat. No changes were made to the original sentence. We went on a few trips on the Majesty before Louis Cruises bought her in England. Our luck took us to find her while we were sailing off of Charleston, South Carolina.
We often went to the Seabreeze until it sank off our shore. Strangely, someone in Nova Scotia took her back while she was on tour, and the Coast Guard had to help get all 35 crew members off the ship as it headed back to Miami. Similarly, we went on a trip on the OceanBreeze, which held up well over time and was later turned into a gambling ship.
We found the Dolphin again. Cape Canaveral Cruise Lines now owns this ship and mainly takes people on two-night trips. Before we left for another trip to Freeport, we set out on her.
On the eve of the new year, 2000, we started to think about what we wanted to do. The Dolphin was booked for this important event at 10:30 a.m. the day after Christmas! The next day at noon, we left for Port Canaveral and got on board by noon. We spent New Year’s Eve on a barge that took us past the Navy Pier and back to where the party was happening. The boat was anchored near Mallory Square in Key West.
Just before she was put into dry dock, we planned a 5-day trip for her. She never showed up, which was sad. When major engine problems were found, which cost $1.2 million more than the budgeted amount, she was doomed. Because no one else was interested, she was finally taken to India, where ships were brought ashore and taken apart for scrap.
